Carla Simone

Carla Simone is a multidisciplinary New Orleans born and based artist, known for her ability to create across mediums. Her artistry is defined by her drive to be an all-around creative, and she specializes in utilizing nontraditional elements, such as cardboard boxes, to bring to life unexpected visual and tactile works of art.

Carla studied sculpture, photography, abstract painting, and digital art at Marymount University, and Ringling College of Art and Design before ultimately receiving a BA, and multiple awards for her artwork from Louisiana State University (LSU).

As an extroverted, people-centric artist, Carla is highly influenced by the culture of her community, and the people within it. Her aim is to bring thought-provoking joy to all who view her work. This mission has led her to focus on exhibits and organizations that carry forth a community impact, not solely focused on the individual – She has produced creative works to support fundraising efforts of the late Julian Bond, Civil Rights Activist, as well as organizations such as Jack and Jill and TYM (Today’s Youth Matter).
